ILP Design Glogster

I am using Glogster to give an assignment to my 9th grade history class. I gave them a brief example of who my role model is and I want them to use glogster to expand their creativity . I designed a biography portion, video, pictures and quotes. I want the role models work to really shine through and to be conveyed well to the audience.

Blog Post 10

Greetings,

Welcome back, lets get straight into it this week. Excel is a powerful education tool that most teachers tend to rely on. It helps keep organization within a classroom and for a teacher within lesson planning. Between data collection surveys and excel I believe I will use the surveys more within my classroom because having anonymous surveys aids teachers in finding out the students perspective and how they feel about the material. Continuously collecting data is a great help in revamping teaching styles and material. I want each of my students to have a better experience from the last. I plan to give anonymous surveys to high school students mainly students in 9th and 10th the gauge their feelings about entering a new environment and learning new material. This survey is so I can better ease that transition as a educator.

As I reviewed my peers blogs I learned so much from their different experiences and goals as teachers. Some of my favorite was the weebly assignment and the class newsletter. It opened my eyes to a lot of platforms I can implement within in my own classroom. I also liked learning about adaptive technologies and how the classroom shared similar feelings about going on the tour of the technological lab.

My next skill that I would like to learn would have to be editing photos and revamping old photos. I would like to explore the photography field as a an educational tool for extracurricular activities within my classroom. Also learning how to make movies, I have seen so many memories saved and exhibited as art through movies and I know it would be a cool tool to have.

Thanks for reading !

Blog Post 9

Greetings and Welcome Back,

It has been a while but here we are again. One of today's topic will be the flipped classroom. The flipped classroom is exactly what it says, instead of lectures and teaching in the classroom students do that part of learning at home. The actual assignments like projects, discussion boards and things of that nature are done in the classroom when everyone meets up. This unconventional style of teaching is rare but I do believe it has a lot of merit. A lot of students need extra time intake a new learning objective, 50 minutes during class is not always enough. When at home students have that extra time  to find examples and really understand the objective. While also still recieving that aid of clarification from the instructor when working on assignments in the classroom. Here is an educational resource for parents who are curious about this new way of learning.

Our next topic will be discussing the open terms. Open content is what you can and cannot use in what you find online.  Teacher's mostly go online to find inspiration or resources to help motivate and educate the children in their classroom. It is only right that limits be discussed and guidelines be placed much like copyright terms. Here is an example of open links that can be used.

Finally during the past two weeks I have learned a lot about my powerpoint skills and how to use it properly within a presentation. I have learned how to make each slide flow and also how I would like to use it within my own classrooms. I feel like powerpoint presentations are very effective and it helps students follow along within the class room. Two new things I learned during these assignments is how to disable linear navigation and also how useful action buttons can be. Action buttons help navigate the presentation  and also brings life to the powerpoint for student with some of the sound effects. I hope you too can take the time to explore Microsoft Powerpoint and learn how it can be useful to you within the class room.

Thanks Again for Tuning in ,
