Blog Post 2

Welcome back,

From a young age, our first introduction to Microsoft Word was very early. Simply because this tool is vital to our education, it is used for at least 80% of assignments that we must turn in. I find Microsoft Word to be huge necessity in my life, I use it for small assignments and for aspects that might not even relate to my education. It is a great base to get your point across to other individuals with edits, pictures, graphs and different forms of format. So far in my education path I have seen teacher's heavily rely upon Microsoft. They even have formats they would like to see used. For example 1 inch magins, 12 pt font and times new roman lettering. This type of things have become the norm through the education world.
I did not understand copyright issues as I progressed through my education.  I saw it sometimes on DVD's but I always ignored it. Copyright is a right that was created by this country to claim ownership of things you created. For example I am writing this blog, therefore I own the rights to my writing. It came from me and me alone. The same could be said for the creator of a movie, that person owns it. When another individual attempts to bootleg or create a copy and sell it it becomes a crime because rights are being violated. As a teacher I would like to acknowledge early on in my classroom what copyrighting is and seriousness of this situation. Creating ways to show my students how it feels to have something taken from them, and reused in the same way that my students originally created it. In order to prove this I can make the students create something meaningful to them . After have them create a set of copyright rules, once they are done I will illustrate how each one can and will be broken. Doing this will help convey the seriousness of the copyright laws.
While reading the implementation aspect, I see a valid reason for these issues. Three solutions for some of them implementation for my class room can be used for a couple of issues. TurnItIN as a way to turn in assignments can be help with academic dishonesty . Also giving out different assignments so it would be harder to cheat or share assignments. Another solution can be for Freedom of Speech , discussing what the students feel is offensive and hurtful towards each can other can help with what is being said in the class, however I do not believe in restricitng someone's voice. Lastly another solution to the implementation issues is for Privacy. I believe in stressing the importance of privacy before we begin assignments, also conveying situations about how privacy can affect people in thier other lives.

Thank you for reading my blog !
Best,
